Madrasah Foundation Stage (Early Years)
Ages: 3 – 5 years
Learning Philosophy
At this stage, Madrasatut Tarbiyah nurtures a child’s natural curiosity through play, adab, and Qur’an-centred exploration. Learning is gentle and experiential, connecting every discovery to Allah’s creation. Children develop early language, numeracy, and social-emotional skills while being introduced to the manners and values of Islam.
Focus Areas
- Development of adab (manners) and akhlaq through stories, routines, and modeling by teachers.
• Building love for the Qur’an through rhythmic recitation, short surahs, and memorisation of daily duʿāʾs.
• Learning Arabic sounds and simple words, linking them to daily life (animals, colours, family).
• Strengthening communication and pre-literacy in Arabic, English and Bangla for expression and comprehension.
• Foundational mathematical and reasoning skills through play, patterns, and hands-on exploration.
• Early science and discovery, observing Allah’s creation—plants, animals, weather—with curiosity and gratitude.
• Social development through cooperative play, sharing, and community awareness.
Subjects
Islamic Core:
• Al-Qur’an – Recitation of short surahs (e.g., Al-Ikhlās, Al-Falaq, An-Nās etc) with tajwīd basics.
• Arabic Language (Al-Lughah Al-ʿArabiyyah) – Arabic letters, simple greetings, colours, and everyday nouns through songs and visuals.
• Islamic Studies – Stories of the Prophets, basic fiqh (wuduʾ, prayer), adab at home and school, duʿāʾs for daily life.
General Education:
• English Language – Phonics, vocabulary, storytelling, and oral communication.
• Mathematics – Counting, shapes, comparison, and pattern recognition.
• Science & General Awareness – Understanding nature and community; linking discovery to āyāt of Allah.
• Creative Arts & Physical Activities – Nasheed, Islamic art, free drawing, gross-motor play, and movement.
Learning Outcomes by Age 5
- Recognises Arabic and English letters and can recite selected short surahs.
- Demonstrates adab in class, greetings, and routines.
- Understands that all knowledge and creation come from Allah.
- Communicates in very short and simple Arabic and English phrases or sentences.
- Shows early numeracy and curiosity through exploration.
